Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Code 410B Procurement intends to award a Sole Source contract to Johnson Controls Building Automation Systems, LLC (Johnson Controls), to provide direct replacement parts and components for the USS MUSTIN’s air conditioning plant compressor and gasket overhaul kit, which are highly specialized and part of a major ship’s system. The USS MUSTIN will be undergoing a Depot Modernization Period availability (DMP) scheduled for 27 September 2021 through 22 May 2023 and requires these parts to overhaul the air conditioning plants. The requirement will be processed in accordance with FAR part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333415 and the business size standard is 1,250 employees. Johnson Controls is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the for the air conditioning plant. The materials being procured are to support the air conditioning plant of the ship; therefore, it is crucial that the OEM provide the materials to ensure part and equipment compatibility and the system works as designed and at full capacity. In addition, the replacement part must be compatible in all aspects to form, fit, and function with the existing equipment. Johnson Controls has no authorized distributors and as is the only known source available to acquire the required parts. This notice is neither a request nor a solicitation of offers; however, all information received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by the Government for future considerations. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement in the future is in the best interest of the Government. Responses must provide clean and concise documentation indicating a vendor's bona fide capability to provide this product or equivalency. Responses must include company name, address, telephone number of the requester, e-mail address, Cage code and business size. Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) is conducting market research to determine industry’s capability to provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) materials for the USS MUSTIN’s air conditioning plant compressor and gasket overhaul kit, which are highly specialized for a major system. The USS MUSTIN will be undergoing a Depot Modernization Period availability (DMP) scheduled for 27 September 2021 through 22 May 2023 and requires these parts to overhaul the air conditioning plants. SWRMC is especially interested in determining small business capability and interest. SWRMC is contemplating award of a firm fixed price contract for the requirement specified in the attached Product Description List.
