The U.S. Navy requires commercial thermal spray services for Trident submarines at Trident Refit Facility, Bangor, WA. The work involves applying a ceramic coating to SSTG Lift Rods to reduce steam leakage and eliminate galling in the bushing seal area. The vendor will pre-machine, prepare the surface, and apply thermal spray per NAVSEA specifications. After coating, the vendor must rough grind the rods to a diameter of 1.260”/1.261”. Performance of services will occur at the Bangor, WA facility.
