Amendment 2: Posting industry question and answers 1-2 and revised PWS and technical evaluation factor 2 (52.212-2). Question 1: The Zeks Nomonox Breathing Air Purifier is no longer supported by the manufacture. So this contractor cannot perform the services as the contract is written. Performance work statement, 2.4 requires the use of OEM parts. We cannot attain the OEM replacement of the Carbon Monoxide Vessel (9.3.3.2) without the manufacture to perform the service of re-bedding. If the Navy where to sign off for non-OEM materials, the contractor could re-bid with non OEM material to keep the unit working until the new compressor and breathing air assembly arrives. ANSWER 1: The Navy will accept deviation from OEM components in accordance with revised PWS section 2.4.1. Question 2: Since Zeks no longer supports the product they do not provide training for this product, but this contractor still is a distributor for their dual tower dryers which is basically the same concept. Would the Navy sign off that the training in the past and that is the same equipment and we have worked on this equipment for years. ANSWER 2: The Navy will accept past training with experienced mechanics on similar equipment in accordance with revised PWS section 4.1.1. Also see revised technical evaluation factor 2 under provision 52.212-2 for revised submission requirement. Amendment 1: Extended the RFQ closing date to 11 Apr 22. The sources sought is being issued as a means of conducting market research to identify industrial capabilities that might exist in order to support an upcoming requirement for servicing of two Kobelco breathing air compressor stations. For additional information regarding the technical specifications, please refer to the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS). Based on the responses to this sources sought, this requirement may be set-aside for small business (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition (unrestricted), the government intent at this time is for a single award.
