NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) intends to award a Sole Source contract to HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES/ NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING AT 4101 WASHINGTON AVE NEWPORT NEWS, VA, 23607-2734, UNITED STATES, for INNER ASSEMBLIES FOR ELECTRICAL PENETRATION (NUCLEAR) in support PSNS & IMF. PSNS & IMF will use Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i-- Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source only. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by February 26, 2021, 3:00 PM (Pacific Time) via email to CHRISTOPHER.L.PARKE1@NAVY.MIL A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS. However, the Government will consider all offers received by the closed date specified herein. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
