BACKGROUND – Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF), in support of US Submarine, requires thermal spray services for the snorkel induction standpipe, IAW T9074-AA-GIB-010/1687. Snorkel standpipe was found to have surface defects with depths of up to 0.012in. Scope – Thermal spray repair surfaces of snorkel induction standpipe measuring 13ft 10.3in long by 21in diameter. 2 REFERENCES 2.1 DWG 501-4675662 Rev H 2.2 T9074-AA-GIB-010/1687 2.3 SMS 5120-081-026 Rev H CHG-6 3 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Place of Performance: Contractor’s facility 3.2 Delivery Date: 20 Nov 2020 3.3 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.3.1 Submit requirements per para 3.2.1, 3.2.3.2, 3.2.3.5 and 3.3.1.1 of 2.2 as part of contractor’s proposal (CDRL A001) 3.3.2 Undercut surfaces [2], [3], and [4], shown in Figure 3 of reference (2.3), of the snorkel standpipe to the minimum amount necessary (up to 0.025in per side) to establish a suitable surface for coating. 3.3.3. Spray repair surfaces [2], [3], and [4] with Inconnel 625 type material per reference (2.2). 3.3.4. Finish machine and final polish surfaces [3] and [4] to roughness height reading 32 per SECTION 11-A of reference (2.1). 3.3.5. Finish machine and final polish surface [2] to roughness height reading 125, or smoother, per paragraph 1.d.(5) of reference (2.3). 3.3.6 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of the sprayed component record form that meets the minimum requirements of para. 3.1.3 of 2.2 to the COR upon completion of coating application (CDRL A002). 3.3.7 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of a completion report for each locking ring (CDRL A002). 4 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIAL/SERVICES 4.1.
