Puget Sound Navy Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed priced contract to Curtiss Wright of Chula Vista, CA for repair and overall of the High Pressure Air Compressor (HPAC) under the authority, 10 USC 2304 (c) FAR subparagraph 6.302-1 (b) (2) Only One Responsible Source. The required supplies are only available from a single source which possess limited rights in data, patent rights, drawings and copyright rights. Curtiss-Wright is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the existing HPACs on board ship and holds the proprietary information and technical cognizance in order to perform repairs on the compressors. The delivery date is 3/17/2020.The estimated value is less than $750,000.This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of using other than an OEM product. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. Place of delivery is Yokosuka, Japan . The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about November 8, 2019 with a closing date of November 14, 2019.
