During performance of contract N4523A19C0803, post blast inspections were accomplished on the missile compartment, hull, superstructure groups, and MBTs of an SSBN Vessel. Through these required inspections, it was discovered that the quantity of necessary weld repairs exceeded the initial contract requirement. Contract N4523A19C0803 encompassed 71,397 square inches of weld repair, whereas 236,228 additional square inches of weld repair was identified. The contract change entails 236,228 square inches of Non-SUB SAFE weld repair to the missile compartment, hull, superstructure groups, and main ballast tanks (MBT) on an SSBN Vessel. The additional weld repairs will support repairs and certification testing on critical path components tied to the UNDOCKING and COMPLETE AVAILABILITY key events. System component repairs include, but are not limited to, Non-SUBSAFE Clad welding, crop out and replacement of large steel, Gouge repair, foundation repair hangar repair, and other base metal repair's.
