FORD (CVN-78): Without requested service, #3 Main Seawater pump has shown increased vibration at the motor front end bearing. Vibration data was collected and analyzed by Naval Surface Warfare Center and determined the motor front end bearing required mandatory replacement IAW COMNAVAIRLANTINST 4790.2. PPPY response to LAR CVN78-22-050 directs replace the front end bearing as soon as practicable. The existing 3 Main Seawater pump electric motor front end bearing is damaged beyond repair. Replacement of this part is required to restore the unit to full operational capability. Modification 01 to N42158-22-P-0029 shall be awarded to the incumbent vendor of the contract to replace the front end bearing of pump #4 that is in need of replacement.
