MSC delivers agile logistics, strategic sealift, as well as specialized missions anywhere in the world, under any conditions, 24/7, 365 days a year. MSC ships require a broad range of ship support services to support mission. General ship repair (GSR) services range from pipe fitting and electrical work to valve repairs and engine overhauls. Work Items (WI) are utilized to communicate Statements of Work (SOW) and may be issued on an individual basis to support a specific requirement, or by dozens to support voyage repairs (VR) that span several weeks or months, with various levels of complexity and coordination requirements. ABS welding procedures (WPS) are required to support welding requirements aboard MSC ships. The Government’s objective is to establish an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contract (MAC) with responsible and capable contractors to procure GSR services through firm fixed price (FFP) delivery orders (DO).
