The project constructs the new Main Gate at MCAS Cherry Point. It creates a complete Entry Control Facility (ECF) complex comprised of Visitor Control Center, Gate House, sentry booths, main gate inspection canopies, overwatch position, a truck/POV inspection office, utilities, parking, emergency generator, telecommunications duct bank, an additional new concrete two-lane bridge with pedestrian lane over Slocum Creek adjacent to the existing Slocum Road bridge, four new lanes of roadway to serve Slocum Road traffic from US Highway 70 and intersect with existing Roosevelt Boulevard, demolition and site work.
