The caissons w ill be a separate contract funded as part of MILCON P-381 Multi Mission Dry Dock #1. The caissons w ill be for Dry Dock #1N and Dry Dock #1W. Caisson construction includes steel fabrication, installation of mechanical and electrical systems, and a full testing program of the caisson and its interface w ith the new ly constructed dry dock seats. Construction w ill be primarily offsite w ith delivery to the shipyard and final testing at the dry docks.

The caissons will be a separate contract funded as part of MILCON P-381 Multi Mission Dry Dock #1. The caissons will be for Dry Dock #1N and Dry Dock #1W. Caisson construction includes steel fabrication, installation of mechanical and electrical systems, and a full testing program of the caisson and its interface with the newly constructed dry dock seats. The caissons will be constructed to meet Military Standard (MIL-STD-1625D(SH)), Safety Certification Program for Dry-docking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for U.S. Navy Ships and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC-4-213-10). The magnitude of construction is between $25,000,000 and $50,000,000. The anticipated award of this contract is March 2021.
