Request for Information (RFI) Responses for Building 1258 Rapid Innovation Center The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has approved the renovation of rooms 314 and 315 in Building 1258 to provide a conference room and a collaboration area where employees can team up to work on projects. This project will focus on re-configuration of the existing space, improving lighting, improving HVAC, and providing power throughout the area. The scope of work includes all planning, execution, and implementation required to perform the tasks as outlined in NUWCDIVNPT drawing #17-026A (13 sheets), this Statement of Work, and the associated specifications. Each stage of the project will require approval from the Contracting Officer before moving on to the next stage. Contractor shall verify existing site conditions and provide hazardous materials (HAZMAT) survey, to include only building materials designated for disturbance or removal. Hazardous materials are not expected to be encountered on this project. In the event survey results confirm hazardous material(s), and disturbance or removal of the material(s) is necessary to accomplish the work, the Government will issue a modification pursuant to FAR 52.243-4 Changes and FAR 52.236-2 Differing Site Conditions. Refer to specification section 01 57 19 “Temporary Environmental Controls”. Contractor will be responsible for the design and installation of any temporary supports required during demolition. Not included in the scope of work for this project is any work associated with wiring access control systems beyond the connection of electric strikes at the door frame. Naval Facilities Command Engineering (NAVFAC), Public Works Department (PWD) Newport, located at Newport, Rhode Island, announces a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) construction contract for Solicitation Number N4008520B3307, Rapid Innovation Center (NUWC) Building 1258. This project shall be bid to include all labor, tools, qualified supervision, equipment, materials, supplies, equipment, and permits necessary to complete the General Requirements and Statement of Work. The Government will issue the solicitation as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. Contract award will be based on Far Part 14 – Sealed Bidding. The project consists of a Base Bid. Award shall be made on the total Base Bid price to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest price acceptable to the Government. All work must be scheduled to be complete within this timeframe. An organized site visit will be scheduled and specific date and time will be made available at time of solicitation issuance.
