The Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (MCRD-PI), South Carolina, Facilities Engineering Acquisition Division has a requirement to repair the exterior of Building 286 to include gutter spouts, windows, sealing of building masonry, and window and door caulking. Under the Authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), the construction to be sole sourced directly affects the performance of a secondary construction project on MCRD-PI. Given the circumstances, it is in the government’s best interest to ensure construction to be sole sourced to vendor currently constructing interior work in Building 286 that the exterior work directly impacts and correlates to. As evidenced in the sole source justification provided by the requiring activity, source is not restricted to manufacturer materials but to contractor who may perform the work. The contractor selected is the contractor for an associated project aboard MCRD-PI concerning Interior work and renovations for Building 286. The contractor identified is Mitchell Brothers, Incorporated of Seacrest, South Carolina. The period of performance will be 60 calendar days from the contract award. The solicitation will be open for a period of 15 days. The NAICS code is 236220 and small business size standard of $36.5 million. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency NLT 6 August 2019.
