The MCAS Cherry Point FY23 Pay As Cut Timber Sale (Contract No. N40085-23-RP-00003) work shall be located at MCAS Cherry Point, Havelock, North Carolina. All labor, materials and/or equipment necessary for the completion of the contract including loading and removal shall be furnished by the Purchaser. This is a pay-as-cut timber sale designed to expedite the harvest of timber for construction projects and silvicultural work with a short completion time and/or logistical difficulties due to location or training conflicts. Projects containing over 1000 tons of merchantable timber offered to Purchaser must be harvested. Projects containing less than 1000 tons of merchantable timber may be harvested at the discretion of the Purchaser. Purchaser has 120 days from the date of being offered a project to begin harvesting. Timber is sold to the bidder with the highest unit prices. Only performance bond has to be paid before cutting begins. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond or a cashier’s check in the amount of $25,000.00 shall be submitted. Timber buyer pays only for the trees harvested. Payment for timber is made as cutting progresses. Payment owed is determined by multiplying mill weight tickets by appropriate unit prices. Bids shall be submitted, in duplicate, on Standard Form 114-B, based upon the following estimated quantities (See “Exhibit A” for estimate details). Bids are due no later than 11:00 am on October 4, 2022, and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to MCAS Cherry Point Facilities Engineering Acquisition Department, Attn: Timber Harvest 2023, NAVFAC MIDLANT, PSC Box 8006, Cherry Point, NC 28533-0006. Sealed bids will be received for purchase and removal of timber located on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, Havelock, North Carolina. Bids will be opened publicly at 11:00 am on October 4, 2022, and read by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Real Estate Contracting Officer (RECO), or their designee at the office of the Resident Officer In Charge of Construction (ROICC) MCAS Cherry Point, Bldg. 87, Roosevelt Dr., Cherry Point, North Carolina, 28533-0006. This is a pay-as-cut timber sale with a firm-fixed unit price. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and strongly encouraged.
