The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has approved the construction of a new warehouse facility for the storage of fleet equipment containing Isopar liquid, which is categorized as a Class IIIA flammable liquid. This project will entail the demolition of the existing Hazardous Waste Storage Facility (Building 1264), and the construction of a new warehouse consisting of 4 compartmentalized fire control areas and a general storage/utility area. The existing building to be demolished is constructed of CMU walls with a pre-stressed hollow core plank roof and was built in the late 1980s. The original construction drawings for this building are included at the end of the project drawing package.
