VQ-4 Alert Facility: The new Alert Facility is a 8,000 sq. ft. single story VQ-4 Navy building is an additional structure within the Alert Facility site that will serve as administrative, training and sleeping quarters for Navy Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR (VQ-4) personnel. In addition to the new building, site development for the project includes supporting infrastructure but not limited to; an emergency access driveway, pedestrian walkways, electrical power and HVAC equipment, equipment concrete pads, storm water management facilities, a new sanitary sewer lift station, associated services utilities, demolition of a multipurpose outdoor court, a wooden gazebo, relocation of electrical power service lines, relocation of a 2,000-gal, above groud fuel tank, two generators and an electrical transformer. The project will also construct a new fiber optic line. The fiber optic line will extend approximately 1,350 ft. west from the Alert Facility to Leader Road. VQ-4 Parking Apron: The work includes the replacement of the approximately 215,000 SF existing aircraft parking apron at the VQ-4 Facility. Work includes replacement of portland cement concrete (PCC) apron pavement, replacement of asphalt concrete (AC) apron shoulders, mill and overlay of asphalt concrete (AC) apron shoulders, pavement markings, replacment of existing storm drain piping, erosion and sediment control, and incidental related work.
