Solicitation will be available on or about 14 JUN 2021. Description of Work: Ship Repair: Blasting and painting of submarine underwater hull, superstructure, tanks, voids and recesses. Removal and installation of lead ballast. The place of performance is Naval Submarine Base, Trident Refit Facility, Kings Bay, GA. Award requires certification of SSPC QP-1. In accordance with FAR Part 19, it has been determined based on the Government's market research; this solicitation will not be able to be set aside for Small Business. The Small Business Representative provided concurrence on 14 APR 2021. The solicitation is full and open to all bidders with the certification requirements as stated above. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor does its issuance restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) is issuing this Sources Sought as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having interest in and the resources to support the upcoming SCAFFOLDING IDIQ contract for labor, services, equipment, and materials for the on-load, assembly, daily certification, disassembly, and offload of scaffolding in various configurations on various class ships to allow for ships force personnel to conduct maintenance or repairs.
