NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to Chant Engineering under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Chant Engineering is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Chant Model 31375-01-Proof Test Machine and the only known source capable of providing the repairs due to the proprietary nature of the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes they can meet this requirement may submit a capability statement which will be considered by the agency. SCOPE: Troubleshooting and repair for the CHANT vertical Pull Test Machine, in addition this contract will also cover a yearly Preventative maintenance service yearly. This will be for Base +4 years. After each visit the contractor shall provide a detailed Service report, stating all findings and corrective actions needed to bring this machine back to OEM specs.
