This contract has been extended by 18 weeks in order to provide continuous support to ship repair/overhaul which was delayed by a shipyard-wide work stoppage that resulted in rebaselining of projects by approximately 4 months. If the DCCU System was disconnected for any period of time, it would violate critical environmental and safety requirements. This equipment is required to maintain strict around the clock environmental conditions for shipyard work therefore there can be no break in service, deeming this equipment non-severable and thus justifying the need for extension of services with current contractor.
