The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to solicit an award a Sole Source contract to Wartsila Defense, Inc. for vendor services to perform and engineered repair of a propeller on a United States Navy Vessel. This sole source solicitation is based on NAVSEA Letter 9245 Ser 05P/201 dtd 25 Jul 2014 that provides NAVSEA qualification to Wartsila Defense Inc. for submarine propeller repairs. Per NAVSEA submarine propeller Technical Warrant Holder, no other facility has letter authorization to repair submarine propellers. Under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) and FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Wartsila Defense, Inc. is the only vendor that is authorized to accomplish the work. Place of Performance is: Groton, NLON, CT. Anticipated Period of Performance is: date of contract award to 12/1/2020 to 12/24/2020.
