Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to issue a sole source solicitation to Rockwell Automation (Cage: 01121). Portsmouth Naval Shipyard requires the Drive Tuning on Portal Crane #37 for Lifting and Handling Department. Rockwell Automation is the designer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the crane requiring repair. These are “direct replacements” parts/components for existing equipment. Rockwell Automation Industries possesses the necessary proprietary data, drawings, knowledge, material, and expertise needed to provide the repair service required. There are no Rockwell Automation-authorized sources, such as re-sellers or subcontractors, that manufacture or repair drive tuning on Portal Crane #37. The requirement is for the supply the services of Rockwell Automation technician(s) to provide all required material support to accomplish the repairs to the Portal Crane. The Statement of Work (SOW) encompasses the material, technicians and mechanics, management, supervision, and transportation necessary to troubleshoot, repair, test and certify the repair of Crane #37 satisfactorily meeting all technical and operational specifications in accordance with Rockwell Automation drawings and applicable Maintenance Standard(s). The NAICS Code will be 811310. The proposed contract action is for the procurement of services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. For proprietary reasons, the only source is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Rockwell Automation Industries (CAGE: 01121), a large business. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This notice is for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available at this time. A determination of the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
