The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard intends to solicit and award a Sole Source contract to Curtiss-Wright Engineered Pump Division for Restoring and Upgrading the Secondary Propulsion Unit (SPU) Rotary Deployment Mechanism (RDM) on a Virginia class submarine. This requirement is for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to perform the refurbishment services. Curtiss-Wright has not authorized the use of their drawings by any third party. Curtiss-Wright is a large business. Material is provided for on a separate contract. Under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) and FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Curtiss-Wright owns the proprietary drawings, and is the only vendor that is authorized to accomplish the work. Place of Performance is the Vendors' Facility. Upon completion of work, equipment shall be shipped back to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for reinstallation. Delivery schedule will be negotiated prior to award.
