This project includes the demolition of two 1.5 MW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) diesel cogenerators, including containerized cogeneration units, heat recovery infrastructure, and associated appurtenances not suitable for reuse at the Central Energy Plant (CEP), and to provide for the installation of two new 1.5 MW CHP single fuel natural gas cogenerators complete with heat recovery modules, controls, and associated appurtenances necessary for integration of the units into the existing CEP trigeneration system. Both existing diesel cogenerator units are no longer operational. Additionally, this scope of work includes the installation of two new thermal energy storage tanks to improve the capacity to use the recovered CHP energy efficiently. Finally, project scope includes conversion of fluorescent lighting inside the CEP and within the plant yard to be converted to LED.
