The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) is seeking sources that are interested and capable of providing technical assistance for the reassembly, possible repairs, and testing of an OHIO-class submarine diesel engine as defined in the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement. Under the authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, PHNSY & IMF seeks a contractor to provide technical assistance for a submarine diesel engine in support of an OHIO class vessel. Currently, Fairbanks-Morse is the only vendor capable of performing this work as they are the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and they possess proprietary rights with the specifications and shop practices of the repairs and reassembly of the engine. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 336611 – Ship Building and Repairing. Product Service Code is J020 – Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment – Ship & Marine Equipment. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for a quotation. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
