The USNS COMFORT (T-AH 20), one of two U.S. Navy Hospital Ships, is going through a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP). The SLEP requires additional personnel to support management and execution, support design work, tracking of funding, identifying long lead time material (LLTM) and onsite support during maintenance availabilities in FY-23 through FY-25. The contractor will be required to provide an Assistant Project Manager, Naval Architect/Structural Engineer, Marine and Mechanical Engineer, and Electrical and Electronic Engineer. See the attached solicitation and PWS for additional details. The period of Performance will be September 2023 - September 2025. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price IDIQ contract and each firm fixed price task order will have its own PWS for the contractor to bid. Amendment 01 issued to provide a due date for questions of 11:00AM EST on 31 August 2023. Amendment 02 issued to provide a Q&A document, QASP, and to extend the due date for proposals.

The SLEP requires additional personnel to support management and execution, support design work, tracking of funding, identifying long lead time material (LLTM) and onsite support during maintenance availabilities in FY-23 through FY-25. Military Sealift Command (MSC) is seeking eligible small businesses to support MSC’s USNS COMFORT’s SLEP in the areas of Project Management, Naval Architecture, and Structural Engineering; Marine and Mechanical Engineering; Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and administrative support. The Contractor selected for this effort will have had experience working with MSC and knowledge of the SLEP process for MSC vessels.
