Set-aside Status: Total 100% Small Business Set Aside The decision to set aside this procurement as 100% small business set-aside was made resulting from Market Research. Previous procurements for this service have shown that there is an expectation to receive quotes from two or more small businesses. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format and procedures in FAR Part 12, FAR Part 15, and FAR Subpart Part 16.5 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. MSC intends to award a Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a five-year ordering period. Task Orders and Delivery orders will be firm-fixed price. This is not a Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications, or drawings available at this time. The purpose for this requirement is to facilitate worldwide support for calibration, repair and/or replacement of gauges, meters, thermometers and test equipment for MSC vessels. Calibration of gauges, meters, thermometers, and test equipment will be done "In Place", i.e., aboard the ship unless otherwise specified in the Delivery Order (DO)/Task Order (TO). Repairs and/or replacement of gauges, meters, thermometers, and test equipment will be conducted either “In Place”, i.e., aboard the ship or "Shop Repaired", i.e., at the contractor's facility. It should be noted that "Shop Repair" will still require some work to be performed on the ship. TO’s, when issued to the contractor(s), will identify the individual gauges, meters, thermometers, and test equipment to be dealt with.
