Under contract authority FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) - Military Sealift Command Norfolk (MSC-Norfolk VA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to ZF Group North American Operations, Inc, (ZF Group) the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). ZF Group is the only authorized manufacturer and distributor for the oil coolers on the reduction gears onboard USNS CARSON CITY. ZF Group North American Operations, Inc 777 Hickory Hill DR, Vernon Hills, IL The following material is being procured for the WÄRTSILÄ WLD 1400SR Water Jet Propulsion System COOLER, OIL --- RIGHT P/N: 0501.217.515 QTY: 8 COOLER, OIL --- LEFT P/N: 0501.217.518 QTY: 8 ZF Group is the only source that can provide oil coolers for the reduction gear pumps installed on the T-EPF vessels. There is no other source for parts as ZP Group is the OEM. ZP Group has the data to produce the parts and retains all proprietary design rights. MSC has no plans at this time to compete future contracts for the type of service covered by this document. If another potential source emerges, MSC will assess whether competition for future requirements is feasible.
