TSV4 Narragansett discovered urgent need for replacement of the 2” high pressure Selector Valve. During annual testing of sips fixed fire suppression system, the Main Engine room selector valve was found to be ineffective. Further inspection revealed failed internals and the fact that it was the wrong valve for the system. 300 psi vice 1000psi. Flanged vice threaded connection.
