THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR INFORMATION AND ACQUISITION PLANNING PURPOSES. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) AND A FORMAL SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE AN RFQ, CONTRACT, OR ORDER. Any contractor who wishes to identify their interests and capability to provide this product must provide product specifications, performance and delivery information by notifying the Contract Specialist no later than 12:00PM Eastern Time, January 22, 2018. Notification shall be e-mailed to jonathan.brekken@us.af.mil. Please provide your company's business size and CAGE Code if you are capable of meeting this requirement. DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT This sources sought is for a laser based force on force firearm training system with haptic feedback for the military. The product must include all of the following: 1. Vest - A vest or covering that will be used to eliminate the wearing of non-lethal training ammunition safety equipment. a. The vest or covering will track and report laser contact with the vest. Laser Contact Reports will include contact location, the time of hits, and number of hits accurately in order to measure performance. b. The vest or covering will provide a shock and vibration to be induced when registering a lasers hit. c. All vests or coverings will require enabling and disabling remotely by an instructor. 2. Tablet - A tablet that will be used to remotely configure and control vests or coverings. a. The contractor must identify communication range between the tablet and the vests or coverings. b. The tablet must include a rechargeable battery. c. The tablet must have all software required to operate the training system. d. The contractor must identify the quantity of vests or coverings the tablet can record information from simultaneously. 3. M4 Simulated Training Weapon - An M4 training weapon capable of simulating live fire with trigger and recoil response and requires magazine reloading during operation.
