Solicitation N0042119Q0296 is issued as an intent to sole source. The Government under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR Part 13 intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis, and to solicit and award the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with USI ELECTRONICS as they are providing quotes for the original manufacturer (wind River) for upgraded maintenance, and license support under the authority implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b). Wind River is the original Equipment Manufacturer of VxWorks and currently is being sold through USI and is the only distributor of their products. Offerors must be currently registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to submission of an offer to be considered for award of any DoD contract. This may be accomplished electronically at http://www.sam.gov. This procurement is not set aside for small business under the authority of FAR Part 52.219-6. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The government will not pay for any information received.
