DIGITAL STABILITY AUGMENTATION SYSTEM AND AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM FOR F-5 AIRCRAFT

Notice ID:N00421-26-RFPREQ-TPM226-0558

This Sources Sought is seeking qualified industry partners to develop, test, and integrate an adaptation of the American Systems AS2100 Digital Stability Augmentation System flight computer with Automatic Flight Control System capability for the F-5N/F platform, using the AS2100 to reduce NRE and interface with existing mechanical flight control linkages and hydraulic actuators while minimizing airframe modifications. The solution must include new DSAS software, a dedicated control/indication panel fitting existing console space, automated Heading Hold and Altitude Hold modes, graceful fail-safe reversion to unaugmented flight control, compliance with F-5N/F space/weight/power limits and DoD airborne cybersecurity requirements, and disclosure of data rights and MOSA compliance. Interested vendors should provide a ROM, notional schedule, component lead times ARO, production throughput, and details on NRE for COTS adaptation, airworthiness qualification/test data, technical data, and installation; the Government estimates 20 units. Anticipated NRE period of performance is no more than 18 months from award, airworthiness approval is anticipated to take no more than 6 months from Government receipt of technical data and completion of a prototype/validation installation, and the aircraft retrofit schedule is TBD based on proposed solutions. The applicable NAICS code is 334511 with a 1,350-employee size standard, and this notice is for market research only, does not commit the Government to contract, and will be used to inform set-aside strategy.
