The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), PMA-226 Specialized and Proven Aircraft, Adversary Integrated Product Team (IPT), is considering procurement of gaskets for both the left and right position lights, P/Ns 30-0812-1 and 30-0812-2 respectively, for use on thirty-six (36) F- 5N, four (4) F-5F, nineteen (19) F-5N+, and five (5) F-5F+ aircraft, plus spares. There is currently no protection between the base of the position lights and the skin of the aircraft which has led to recurring cases of corrosion. The new gaskets will adhere to the skin of the aircraft so that the position lights can be removed without having to replace the gaskets.
