Inspection & Certification of Life Rafts CNRNW Port Operations Department Type of life rafts to be inspected: Commercial type, Manufacturer is Elliot, SOLAS “A” type rafts, 25 man and 50 man. Age of the life rafts: 25 man life rafts range from September 2001 to April 2010. 50 man life rafts range from April 2002 to April 2010. Excel spread sheet has manufactured month and year for all rafts. Number of life rafts to be inspected per year will be a minimum of 11. Four 50-man life rafts and seven 25-man life rafts. There is a total of 16 life rafts on hand. Inspection and Certification: The Vendor will need to comply with the following regulations in the inspection and certification of commercial life rafts. In accordance with 46 CFR Ch.1 (10-1-97 edition), 160.151-35 Servicing, inspection and repair. Inflatable life rafts must be inspected by a facility approved by the US Coast guard. Life rafts may require an inspection, repairs, and repackaging, before the inspection/certification is deemed complete.
