The requirement is for 37 each of a flight-critical NSN item, with delivery FOB origin. Government source approval is required prior to award, and only previously approved sources have been solicited; new sources must submit the information required by the applicable NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Brochure with their proposal. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, although all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability. The Government is not using FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures, but interested parties may identify commercial-item interest/capability to the contracting officer. Evaluation of a new source approval request may not be completed in time to meet fleet support needs, so award may proceed based on those needs.
