The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole-source basis under FAR 6.302-1 for a flight-critical item, quantity 15 EA, with delivery FOB origin. Only previously approved sources have been solicited, and Government source approval is required prior to contract award; new sources must submit the required Source Approval Brochure information with their proposal. Source approval for a new source normally cannot be completed in time to delay award, and the Government may proceed based on Fleet support needs if approval cannot be processed in time. The acquisition will not use FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures, though interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item. All responsible sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements, but this notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
