The Government requires 20 EA of a flight-critical item, with Government source approval required prior to contract award and delivery FOB origin. Only previously approved sources have been solicited, and the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, although responsible sources may express interest or submit capability statements/proposals. Non-approved sources must include the applicable NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochure data with their offer; incomplete submissions will not be considered for award. If source approval is already being evaluated by NAVSUP WSS, include the cover letter that forwarded the request. FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures are not being used, but interested parties may identify commercial item capability to the contracting officer; new-source approval may not be processed in time to delay award if needed for Fleet support.
