The Government is procuring two units of a flight-critical item, with delivery FOB Origin, and lacks sufficient accurate or legible data to purchase it from sources other than the current approved source(s). Because the item requires Government source approval prior to contract award, only previously approved sources have been solicited, and new sources must provide the required Source Approval Information Brochure data with their proposal. Offers that fail to provide all required source approval data, or that do not document prior submission of that data, will not be considered for award. If source approval cannot be processed in time to meet Fleet support needs, award may proceed despite the source approval requirement. The solicitation does not use FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures, though interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item.
