The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole-source basis under FAR 6.302-1 for NSN 7R-2840-015982504-V2, TDP VER 002, quantity 12 EA, delivery FOB Origin. The item is flight critical and requires engineering source approval by the design control activity; only previously approved sources have been solicited because they retain essential design, manufacturing/repair knowledge, or technical data not economically available to the Government. An alternate source must qualify through the design control activity’s Government-approved procedures, and the time required for new-source approval normally precludes delaying award pending approval. If you are not an approved source, you must submit the source approval information required by the applicable NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochure with your offer, or your offer will not be considered for award. Award will be made only if the offeror, product/service, or manufacturer meets the qualification requirements at time of award, and market research indicates FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures are not being used.
