This is a sole-source or restricted procurement for a flight-critical item, as the Government lacks adequate technical data for full and open competition. Only sources already approved by the Government have been solicited; new sources must submit detailed technical data per the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Brochure to be considered. If a source approval request cannot be processed in time, the award may proceed based on Fleet support needs without waiting for new approval. The requirement is for 2 units with delivery FOB origin. The acquisition may be subject to Free Trade Agreements or Trade Agreements clauses if included in the solicitation.
