NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Philadelphia is seekingeligible contractors to furnish eff ort including labor, material, and facilities asmay be required to repair and/or modify the TURRET UNIT, NIIN 016702457, P/N: 6643701-4, ELECTRONIC UNIT, NIIN 016426770, PN 6643702-1 and TURRET UNIT, NIIN 016508982, PN 6643701-3 which are components of the MQ-4C system and is used on the Triton platform. NAVSUP WSS intends to add the item specified within this document to Basic Ordering Agreement N0038320GVW01, awarding sole source to the OEM, andthat the lack of response from any other source will consider them to be notinterested. This is being executed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not possess (or cannot provide) the data necessary to performthe required repairs of the item(s). Orders issued under the Basic Ordering Agreement and pursuant to thissynopsis will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The data needed toacquire this part or complete contract repair competitively is not physicallyavailable, it cannot be obtained economically, nor is it possible to draft adequate specifications or any other adequate, economical description of thematerial or repair for a competitive solicitation. The item under this acquisition is subject to the Buy America Act. All responsiblesources may identify their interest and provide capability statements inresponse to this notice. Based upon market research, the Government is notusing the policies contained in FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, inits solicitation for the described supplies or services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, allproposals received within 15 days aft er date of publication of this notice will beconsidered by the Government. A determination by the Government not tocompete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solelywithin the discretion of the Government. Source approval is required. NAVSUPWSS will not delay award while source approval is pending. The time required for approval of a new source is normally such that an awardcannot be delayed pending approval of a new source.
