Scope: Naval post graduate school has a requirement for a Hypersonic wind Tunnel. The product of interest is a process flow heater that will be used to heat air to a temperature that is suitable for use in a blow down hypersonic wind tunnel Mach 5. Air must be heated to a temperature of 500 degrees Kelvin prior to the entrance of the tunnel to avoid the formation of ice crystals in the air flow which would. be destructive to both the tunnel and model in the test section.
