This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a Request for Quotation (RFQ) is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Contractor must be registered and complete all Representations and Certifications found in the provisions listed below within their profile in the System for Award Management (SAM) at http://www.sam.gov to be considered for this solicitation. Requirements Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Department of Physics has a requirement for an acoustic vector sensor system which can be towed at depth by a Liquid Robotics SV3 Wave Glider. The acoustic vector sensor must provide both towing and sensor capabilities. The minimum technical requirements must satisfy both capabilities in a single unit. For towing: 1. Connectors, electrical and mechanical, to interface natively with a Liquid Robotics SV3 wave glider 2. Acoustically transparent, neutrally buoyant tow body 3. Cable for towing at ~100m depth 4. Cable contains power and communications for real-time streaming of acoustic data 5. Can house an acoustic vector sensor which is freely compliant with the fluid medium 6. Payload bay to house an acoustic recorder and communication interfaces to the vehicle 7. Necessary bulkhead connectors to interface the recorder with the sensor. For the acoustic sensor: 1. Acoustic vector sensor with a frequency response to at least 2-3 kHz. 2. At least 3 channels: pressure and x,y, velocity; however, a 4th z channel would be strongly preferred. 3. 24-bit low noise data recorder. The module must be plug and play with the Wave Glider, including integral recording of audio data. Refer to statement of requirements for full detail. Qty: 1 Delivery: FOB Destination.
