This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures found at FAR Part 13, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. This combined synopsis/solicitation SHALL be posted on both SAM and NECO (http://www.neco.navy.mil/). The Solicitation number, N0018925QZ174. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies, in accordance with the Requirements Statement. The NAICS code is 339112 and the Small Business Standard is 1000. It is the responsibility of the contractor to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Philadelphia Office intends to solicit Stereo Optical Company, Inc. dba Essilor Instruments USA on a sole source basis. The proposed acquisition is for contractor to supply an edging system to support Naval Ophthalmic Readiness Activity (NORA) for the fabrication of future frames as service members require. Supplies are to be delivered to the Contractor’s own facility. The sole source vendor is Stereo Optical Company, Inc. dba Essilor Instruments USA (CAGE: 02012), 8600 W Catalpa Ave Ste 703, Chicago, Illinois 60656-1116. The requirement is for commercial supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority for FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to future similar requirements, however, this notice is not intended to be a request for competitive quotations from any source. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement action based on the responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this notice.
