The Nimitz Library at the U.S. Naval Academy is an academic library in support of a patron population of approximately 4,520 midshipmen, 600 faculty, and 3,000 other staff and military personnel. To meet the academic/educational, archival, and records management mission requirements of the Naval Academy, the Nimitz Library subscribes to digital archival services. This subscription is an integral part of the Library and Academy’s collection and record preservation services. In order to sustain Academy and Library performance and support, and advance the academic/educational, archival, and records management mission of the Academy, the Nimitz Library must subscribe to digital preservation services to enhance records management workflows, maintain the historical record of the Academy, and preserve unique historical documents.
