The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies, for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106?1(b) to Applied Controls, LLC. The United States Naval Academy has a requirement for one (1) Motion Stage Actuated 7th Axis and one (1) MSA RTU stage and MPG XZ kit to support the industrial robotic systems. The Actuated Motion Stage and MSU RTU stage and MPG XZ kit is capable of supporting a large payload sufficient to support the Universal Robot UR10 manipulator affixed to a standoff pedestal under full 10 kg end-effector loading. This stage will be incorporated into our current additive manufacturing research providing the necessary translational distances to increase the dexterous workspace of the mounted manipulators. High accuracy is required to provide the necessary trajectory tracking accuracy for additive manufacturing. This stage must provide a minimum of 14’ for the actuated 7th Axis Motion Stage & 18’ MSA RTU stage and MPG XZ kit of travel with a repeatability of better than 0.05mm with a translational speed capably of 5m/s. Actuation of this linear motion unit must support current USNA developed Universal Robotics interface software. The anticipated firm fixed price contract value is $44,858.89 and the supply required delivery date is 30 days ADA.
