This is a sole source action for the repair and upgrade of specialized timing equipment, H-Hydrogen Maser to the MHM 2020 Hydrogen MASER. The U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) requires the repair and upgrade of 2 Hydrogen Masers (HMaser). This task includes the purchase of the below repairs, which must be completed by Microchip qualified technicians, as the HMaser are proprietary to Microchip. Repairs of the HMasers will be conducted at the Microchip Technology factory. Maser Serial # 258: Repair, upgrade, and verification for one (1) maser, listed below, to include an updated physics package, and completing an upgrade to the latest MHM-2020 platform on the following maser, including both ways’ shipping between USNO and factory. Maser Serial # 100: Repair, upgrade, and verification for one (1) maser, listed below, to include an updated physics package, replacing the hydrogen plumbing, recoating the storage bulb, and completing an electronics upgrade to the latest MHM-2020 platform, and return shipping from the factory back to the USNO.
