Requirement is for a Navy Mail Router to route mail for Ships deployed / underway, in addition to expeditionary forces / mobile units from Navy, MSC, Coast Guard and Marine units embarked aboard Ships... Requirement is for a Navy Mail Router to route mail for Ships deployed / underway, in addition to expeditionary forces / mobile units from Navy, MSC, Coast Guard and Marine units embarked aboard Ships. The source of this requirement is from DoD’s Military Postal Service Agency (MPSA) when MPSA transferred the Navy Mail Routing mission to NAVSUP in 2014. The outcomes to be achieved are successful Navy Mail routing since this mission directly impacts increased morale for Ship crews, in addition to 12% of critical parts and materiel sent via mail that contributes to readiness and agility of the Fleet. Since mail routing involves Logistics Support Services, the choice of product or service description code R706 ensures it aligns with the appropriate DoD taxonomy associated with the acquisition of services, supplies and equipment.
