Statement of Work: USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3) requests consideration of contracting services through NAVSUP FLC Norfolk for rehab work in the Wardroom Lounge. Period of Performance: 15 January 2020 – 15 June 2020 Breakdown of requirements: NOTE: All furniture shall be manufactured in accordance with MIL-PRF-32038 and meet the fire performance requirements of MIL-STD-1623. Laminates shall meet the requirements of MIL-P-17171E. All decking materials and installation must be in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Item (NSI) 009-26. Wardroom Lounge: Decking: Remove approximately 250sf. of existing carpet; install membrane and new SPACIA floor tile to match present décor. Modify Entertainment Center: Modify existing entertainment center. Remove top TV section, repair laminate top, install solid doors instead of glass, and provide new shelving. All material must be in accordance with the following: Shipboard furniture, fixtures, fittings, and accessories general specification for, performance specification, MIL-PRF-32038. This specification establishes minimum acceptable standards relative to items built in accordance with NAVSEA type drawings with regard to materials, design, fabrication and finishing procedures, workmanship, quality assurance, testing, and packing and packaging. This specification also provides information on ordering shipboard furniture. Virtually all shipboard furniture is controlled by the above specification. Furniture items reflected in the U.S. Navy Shipboard Furniture catalog, for which there is no NAVSEA type drawing, shall be built in accordance with this specification, except that hardware designs may vary from those specified, provided quality and function are not impaired, and upon approval of NSWC-PD Code 434. Fire performance requirements and approved specifications for interior finish materials and furnishings (Naval Shipboard Use) military standard, MIL-STD-1623. This standard establishes fire performance criteria and provides a list of approved specifications for finish materials and furnishings to be used on naval ships. This military standard lists, in tabular form, those materials which are approved for use in the following applications: bulkhead sheathing, deck coverings, draperies and curtains, furniture (upholstery cushions, and plastic coverings), overhead sheathing and thermal insulation. Permitted working hours are 0700-2200 Monday – Sunday during the period of performance. The use of proper personal protective equipment (ear protection, eye protection, respirators) is highly encouraged as needed. It is the responsibility of the contractor to remove and dispose of any hazardous material they bring onboard to complete the job. Further, hazardous material is not to be left unattended at any time. Base access must be obtained through NASSCO Security.
