The robotic laser guide star adaptive optics (Robo-AO) system for the USNO 1.8 m telescope requires a 350 nm (ultraviolet) laser to generate an artificial guide star for wave front sensing and correction. Lumentum, LLC produces the Q301-HD-1000R laser that meets all specifications for operation of the Robo-AO system. The laser requires ancillary equipment including a controller, chiller, couplings, and cables that included in the quote provided. Contract will be solicited and awarded to Lumentum pending negotiation.
