A notice of intent to sole source synopsis (special notice) will be posted on FBO to notify the public of the Governments intent to make a sole source award for the Main Operating Room at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This sole source award is for a Medtronic Sofamor Spinal Implant System that the surgeon has deemed necessary for proper patient care. This award is based upon the patient's plan of care. The Medtronic Sofamor Spinal Implant System is very specific to the surgical procedures being performed and are what is required for the Main Operating Room to satisfy its mission at NMCP. Any deviation from the specifications of these products will increase the risk to the patient and is unacceptable to the Government. Sole Source documents are attached to special notice.
